Remotely log out of Gmail

If you’ve left Gmail logged in on another computer, there’s a quick and easy fix for logging out remotely.

First, log into Gmail on your home computer and scroll all the way down past your inbox to the bottom right of the screen where Gmail displays the last time your account was logged into. Click the Details link to see all the IP addresses that have accessed your account. If someone logs into your account from a suspicious location, Google sends you an alert.

That Details screen contains a Sign Out All Other Sessions button. Click it if you’ve forgotten to log out from another computer.

Browser toolbars clean up procedure

You would assume that in 2014, we'd have place all the net shenanigans of the Nineties and early aughts behind US,however you would be wrong—at least for Windows users. transfer a desktop app like AVG, Skype, or Vuze and these programs can attempt to sneak toolbars onto your system or modification your default home page and browser. Yuck.

If your browser is loaded down with toolbars otherwise you wish to induce back to looking with DuckDuckGoinstead of Bing, here's the way to do battle against these foes on Chrome, Firefox, and net somebody.

Internet Explorer

iemanage

Like several fashionable browsers, net somebody will not let a toolbar run automatically—you ought to manually activate the trespasser. however it will still happen if you are not being attentive.

To scrub installed toolbars, click the settings cog in the upper right corner. From the drop-down menu select Manage add-ons. A new window will open and right at the top you'll see all of the toolbars hiding in your browser.

Highlight a toolbar you don't want and then at the bottom of the window, tap the Disable button. Repeat for all toolbars you want to get rid of and you're done.

iemanageaddons

If a toolbar has hijacked your default search provider, stay in the "Manage Add-ons" window and click on Search Providers in the left-hand navigation column. Again, highlight anything you want to get rid of and then click Remove at the bottom of the window.

Finally, if you need to reset your home page, click on the settings cog again, this time selecting Internet Options. In the new window that appears, open the General tab to see a text entry box right at the top. Remove whatever's in there and replace it with your preferred homepage (such as "https://www.google.com"). Then hit Apply, followed by OK.

Firefox
It's even harder to enable a toolbar by accident in Firefox, but mistakes happen. To fix your problem, click on the orange Firefox button in the upper left corner of the browser.

From the drop-down menu select Add-ons. In the tab that opens, click Extensions in the left-hand navigation column. Select the toolbar you want to get rid of and then click the Disable button to the far right of the page. firefoxoptions

To reclaim your preferred search engine in Firefox, go back to the main Firefox interface. Click the search provider icon in the search box to the far right of the address bar. Then simply choose a search provider from the drop-down list that appears.

Finally, to return to an old home page, click the orange Firefox button again and select Options > Options. Then in the new window that opens select General. At the top you'll see a spot called "Home Page." Highlight the text entry box next to it, enter your preferred home page's  URL, and click OK.

Chrome
Chrome is even less of a fan of toolbars than other browsers, and Google plans on banning all toolbars from the Chrome Web Store by June. But sometimes we might download and install a toolbar just for the heck of it. Luckily, dumping a toolbar is almost as easy as installing it.

chrometoolbaravg

Start by tapping the menu icon in the upper right corner and select Settings from the drop down menu. In the new tab that opens, select Extensions from the left-hand navigation column. Scroll down until you find the toolbar you're looking for and either uncheck the Enabled checkbox or click the trash icon. Clicking the trash icon rids you of the toolbar for good, while unchecking the Enabled box leaves the toolbar installed but disabled.

Chrome also resists changes to its default search provider, but if you ever need to change it, here's what you do.

Again go the Chrome settings tab, but this time choose Settings in the left-hand navigation column. Under Search, click on the drop down menu and select your preferred search provider from the list.

To return your home page settings, go up to the top of the same settings menu. Under On startup, click the Set pages link. You can also choose which page(s) to load on startup by merely adding their URL here.

That's it, you are back to normal!

Toolbars, home page, and computer program changes ar annoying, however they are doing take place from time to time if you are not careful once putting in new software package. Now, however, you recognize a way to obstruct the mental illness once disaster will strike.

Create an alias in Outlook.com

Microsoft’s Outlook.com is not anyplace close to as tweakable as Gmail, however one great point Outlook.com will supply is email aliases—multiple, freelance email addresses happiness to one account.

Why would you wish to use Associate in Nursing email alias? you'll be able to produce a hard-to-guess alias as a countersign recovery address for your on-line accounts, creating it harder for hackers to nab your knowledge through the rear door. making junk addresses handy over to websites or apps that force you to register is additionally an excellent thanks to keep your personal email address out of the hands of marketers.

How to create an alias in Outlook.com

From the Outlook.com inbox, click on the settings cog in the upper right corner and click on More mail settings in the drop down menu.

On the next page, under Managing your account, click on Create an Outlook alias. For security reasons, Microsoft will ask you to sign in to your account again.

Next you’ll be on the alias creation page. Just enter the name of the email address you’d like to use, select whether you’d like the address to be Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, or Live.com, and then click Create an alias. (You probably stand a better chance of getting the address you want with the newer Outlook.com domain.)

If the address you want isn’t taken, Outlook will take you back to your inbox. You can then choose to have mail from your new alias delivered straight to your inbox or to a separate folder. Once you’ve decided which you prefer, click Done.

A few minutes later, Outlook will drop you an email message telling you that you’re alias is ready for use.
Once your alias is up and running, you can use it to sign in to your Microsoft account using the same password you always have. You can also use aliases to replace your current Hotmail or Live.com address as the primary identity for your Microsoft account. So instead of automatically signing into your Windows 8 PC or Xbox Live with johnapplemissed@hotmail.com, you can use johnapplemissed@outlook.com.

Gmail Labs features

Google's Gmail packs a large number of extraordinary characteristics to help keep you gainful and composed, incorporating the new inbox tabs, customized names, and Google Drive incorporation. However one of Gmail's greatest preferences is the additional characteristics you can include through Gmail Labs.

Assuming that you're not acquainted with it, Labs is a piece of Gmail where Google includes trial characteristics you can go for. A little dosage of brave is obliged, be that as it may. Labs instruments some of the time wait or get full-fledged Gmail characteristics, yet they can additionally break or be ceased without cautioning. At the end of the day, you can't depend on Labs examinations to dependably be there.

To start with things first: Enabling Labs characteristics

When we jump in, here's a speedy preparation on the most proficient method to empower Gmail Labs tests.

To start with, click on the settings geartooth in the upper right-hand corner of Gmail and select Settings starting from the drop menu. Next, click on the "Labs" tab and you'll see a rundown of all accessible Labs in sequential order request. (Any Labs characteristics you've recently empowered those will appear in a divide record first.)

To empower a trial, essentially click the Enable radio catch to the right of the characteristic's name, and afterward span down to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes. Simple!

Mark as read button

If you’re struggling to keep up to your Inbox Zero New Year’s resolution, here’s how I do things: at the end of every day I click the select all checkbox at the top of the Inbox and then mark all my email as read. Inbox. Zero.

Okay, maybe that’s cheating a little, but it works for me. Of course, life would be a lot easier Gmail included a “mark as read” button rather than requiring you to right-click or dig into the More menu button to find the option.

Thank goodness for the “Mark as Read Button” in Labs. As the name suggests, enabling it will create a discrete “Mark as Read” button at the top of the inbox window once you've selected one or more messages—simple, but effective.

Undo Send

There’s nothing worse in the world of email than the accidental email send. Whether it’s a wisecrack delivered to an unintended recipient, an incomplete message, or simply incorrectly addressing the recipient, it’s all bad. Fortunately, Google Labs has a remedy dubbed "Undo Send." Undo Send gives you up to 30 seconds after you’ve pressed send to call your email back—no harm, no foul.

Once it's enabled, a little notification bubble with a link to "Undo" appears at the top of the Gmail window after you send a message. Again: Easy!

Enabling this particular Lab experiment takes a bit of extra work, however, as the feature straddles the world between Labs and a full-fledged Gmail feature in Gmail. Once you’ve enabled “Undo Send” in Labs, open the Settings options once again. Scroll down under the General tab until you see “Undo Send.”

Next, click the check box next to “Enable Undo Send” if it isn’t enabled already. Click the drop-down menu underneath it and select the amount of time you’d like for your undo send grace period. Finally, scroll down to the bottom of the settings page and click the “Save Changes” button.

Green robot

Green robot is a really simple, but handy experiment that lets you know when your chat contacts are on on a mobile device, cluing you in to expect shorter or delayed responses. This experiment displays a little robot icon next to your contact's name in the Gmail chat window if they're on a mobile device.

Note that this lab only works if you are using Gmail’s old chat interface rather than the new Hangouts format. Google has yet to force all Gmail users over to Hangouts, so this lab still works—at least for now. If you’d like to switch back to Gmail chat from Hangouts (PC only), click on your name at the top of the Hangouts/chat window in Gmail. At the bottom of the drop down menu that appears, click Revert to old chat.

Better iPad browsing with updated Coast by Opera

Description

By introducing Coast for the iPad, Opera has now taken out the version 2.0 for its tablet browser. With this update, you can enjoy new features but the design is still same.

Solution:
It is unchanged from the last September Coast but two buttons are missing. The version 2.0 doesn’t have forward and backward buttons. In its place, it lets you swipe left and right to move forward and backward.
Its tiled home screen can be easily customized now. In order to choose from Opera’s small collection of wallpapers or an image of your own from your photo gallery, you need to long press. Now, you can easily open PDFs documents in another app. If you are viewing a PDF file in Coast then tap on it and you will find a menu through which you can open document in another app such as iBooks, Evernote, Dropbox or Google Drive.
Through Coast, you can see which tile is playing audio or video. If any audio or video files are playing in the background then the tile will display a small sound wave graphic along its bottom edge.

How to tackle JavaScript-based ransomware sites?

Description

As a frequent computer user, you must have heard about Ransomware. Ransomware disguise itself to look like an FBI cybercrime intervention to cheat users. If you get throbbed by this scam, they will ask you for money. When you try to close the window, a notice comes claiming that your browser is locked and criminal proceedings will be initiated soon. This is all fraud. There is a simple code behind this is JavaScript. In this tutorial, we are giving you some easy solutions to fix the issue.

Solution:

Disable JavaScript temporarily

By disabling JavaScript, you can restrict those warning pop-ups. For this, click the warning option to stay on the page. Open browser preferences and search the option to disable JavaScript. If you are using Safari then you can find this option in the Security section of the preferences. In case, you are using Chrome then it is in “Settings > Advanced Settings > Privacy > Content Settings.” In Firefox, you can find this in the Content section of the preferences. After closing the problematic browser window, go back to re-enable JavaScript.

Force-quit the bowser
By force-quitting your bowser, you sometimes get rid of this problem. When you launch that window again then most of the times it takes you to home page instead of that problematic site.

Reset Safari
This solution is for Safari users. For this, choose “Reset Safari” from Safari application menu and then check the option so as to close all Safari windows. By this, that warning window gets closed and JavaScript loop breaks. Now, you can reopen pages securely without any warning pop-up.
