How to Get Windows XP Style Toolbar in Windows 8 Explorer without Using
Any Software?
Description
While using Windows 8 OS, there are many users who
don’t like the new ribbon UI. Users find difficulty in using general commands
like cut, copy, paste, delete, etc. In Windows 8 Explorer, these commands are
available in ribbon. In this tutorial, you are going to learn the conversion of
Windows 8 Explorer toolbar into Windows XP style toolbar.
Solution:
Below are the steps to
change the quick access toolbar into standard toolbar:
Click on the
small arrow present in left-side of Windows Explorer Window. It results in the
opening of a menu.
Click on "Show below the Ribbon" option. This will
locate your quick access
Toolbar below the ribbon.
For adding new buttons to this toolbar, click
on the little arrow again and check
The buttons which you want to put on the
toolbar.
In this toolbar, you can easily place buttons like undo, redo,
delete and rename using the given menu. But, for adding custom buttons
such as cut, copy, paste, etc. to the new toolbar you need to maximize
the ribbon
For this,
right-click on the ribbon and uncheck “Minimize the Ribbon" option.Now, by
right-clicking on any desired button and then select "Add to
Quick
AccessToolbar" option from the context menu you can get the job done.
That’s all. Congrats, you have converted Windows 8 Explorer
toolbar into fully functional Windows XP style toolbar now. In case, you want
to re-order toolbar buttons then you need to remove all the buttons from the
toolbar by right-clicking on the button and choose "Remove from Quick
Access Toolbar". After this, you can add desired buttons one-by-one.
