Utilize your cell phone to check your remote control electric cells

Most standard remote controls send signs to your home theater rigging utilizing a pillar of infrared light, which a sensor on your equipment gets. You can't see this bar, yet your cell phone's Polaroid can! Thus, if your remote isn't working right, you can utilize your telephone to check if your remote needs crisp electric cells.

Wake your cell phone and pop open its Camera application. Next, switch to the front-confronting Polaroid, focus the remote at the Polaroid, and press any bind on the remote.

In the event that the remote is working legitimately, you may as well see a glimmer of light hail from the IR blaster as saw through your telephone's screen that looks something that this:

In the event that you don't see the flash from the IR blaster, or maybe only a quite, exceptionally lower glimmer, you most likely need to change the remote's electric storage devices. (Also if new electric cells don't help, you most likely need to reinstate your remote. Too bad.)

Obviously, this trap isn't restricted to your cell phone's Polaroid; numerous computerized Polaroids can see infrared light, regardless of having channels to block it out. So if all you have available to you is your smart phone's inherent webcam, you may have all that you require.

Use the Xbox One and Kinect sensor as a universal remote

Description

Xbox One is unique due to its voice commands. For the TV integration and voice commands features, you need Kinect sensor. With this, you can navigate the console’s user interface, open games and apps as well as control your TV using your voice only. Isn’t it great?

Solution:

Here are some easy steps to set up the Xbox One as a universal remote control:

1. On the back of the Xbox One, plug your cable or satellite box into the HDMI-in port and connect HDTV to the HDMI-out port. In case, you have an audio receiver then connect it to the HDMI-out port on the system and plug the TV into the back of the receiver.

2. Power on the Xbox One and then go to “Settings.”

3. Go to “TV & One Guide” and select “OneGuide" option.

4. Now, click on TV Lineup, enter your zip code and choose your cable or satellite provider from the drop-down menu.

5. Select “Devices” by going back to the TV & OneGuide settings. From the pull-down menu, select "I don't see my brand" and enter your brand manually.

6. Select “Next” after choosing your brand, choose “Automatic setup” and click “Send Command.” If the system can mute your TV then you are ready to go. Otherwise, try other automatic commands or select manual setup option.

7. Now, enter the manufacturer of your cable or satellite box as well as audio receiver model.

8. Finally, go back to TV & One Guide settings, choose Power settings and select the devices that should be turned off when the Xbox One is powered on. You can configure the console to turn off your TV, cable box or audio receiver using the command “Xbox turn off.” Also, you can power on all the devices with “Xbox on” command.

That’s all. Congrats, you have successfully setup the Xbox One as the Universal remote control. For more from the XpertCrewTM team, please follow us on Twitter @Techvedic or contact Techvedic’s computer support helpdesk, as per below contact-details:
