Factory Reset Your Samsung Galaxy S3

Just like with any other smartphone (or a computer device for that matter), the Galaxy S3 loses its performance over time, for a number of reasons. Unused apps, widgets, junk data (including photos, videos, browser history etc) and different programs clog up your smartphone’s Android OS over time, resulting in reduced performance.

By making sure you have the latest Android OS installed on your smartphone is all it takes usually to ensure a clean and well running system. But sometimes, even upgrading your OS might not solve your problem. In those cases, a factory reset becomes a necessity.

* Backup Data Before Performing A Reset

Basic Reset VS Hard Reset

Basic Factory Reset, which can be easily done from your Android’s settings menu

Basic Reset Steps
settings menu -> ‘Backup and Reset’ option.
Tap it, and choose ‘Factory Data Reset’.
Selecting the ‘Delete All’ option will remove all data from your smartphone.

Please remember, that in a basic reset of this kind, only data from your smartphone is wiped out; data in your SD and SIM will remain.

Hard Factory Reset
Hard Factory Reset, which can be done using the recovery menu of your smartphone.
more advanced options; like complete data wiping, partitioning of your storage, and cache handling. Hard Reset will also help you decide whether you want a total wipeout of your smartphone’s data, or just a few particular apps and programs.

-> Hold Volume Up, Power and Home buttons together, and you’ll get a vibration.

-> Next, you’ll see the Galaxy screen.

-> This is when you need to let go of the Power button.

-> Make sure you keep pressing the remaining two buttons (Home and Volume).

If done right, you’ll be taken to the Android Recover Screen. Look for a ‘Wipe Data/Factory Reset’ option and choose ‘Delete All User Data’. For confirmation of each options, you will need to press the power button. Once done, simply reboot your system, and the next time it loads, you’ll have a brand new (and hopefully much faster) OS running on your Samsung Galaxy S3.

Android phone or tablet supports USB On-The-Go or Not

Can you plug external devices into your smartphone? a straightforward app answers the question, probably saving you each time and cash.

One of the chief edges of humanoid is its support for add-on storage, nevertheless astonishingly few of the most recent humanoid smartphones and tablets embody a microSD slot

The good news is that the software will still access secondary storage (as well as varied external devices like keyboards and game controllers). The dangerous news is that not all devices go along with the required hardware and drivers for this USB On-The-Go (OTG) capability. therefore however are you able to verify if yours does?

The quickest and best resolution far and away is to put in USB OTG Checker, a free app that quickly and effectively determines whether or not your humanoid phone or pill supports USB OTG.

I tried it with the said Moto X, a Virgin Mobile ZTE-made Supreme, and a Google Nexus ten pill. i do know from my very own separate analysis that 2 of those support USB OTG out of the box -- the Moto and Nexus -- and USB OTG Checker confirmed that whereas properly determinative that the Supreme doesn't.

In alternative words, though a number of the app's user reviews indicate it is not correct, in my tests it went 3 for 3. Your mileage could vary.
Fortunately, even though your device fails the take a look at, you'll still make the most of USB OTG. browse my post on the way to use secondary storage to expand unexpandable humanoid phones. Short version: root your device exploitation the superb Kingo humanoid Root utility, then grab associate app that may "mount" secondary storage

If you have been ready to run USB OTG Checker on your phone or pill, share your results here (pro or con). And if you have found a stronger thanks to verify its OTG compatibility, be happy to share that yet.
