Use AOMEI Backupper
To make Windows 8.1 cloning easier we have created some easy steps that you can follow here:
Note: Make Sure You have Attached Second Hard Drive with Computer Where You Want to Copy Windows 8.1 Cloning.
#1. Let’s start with Windows 8.1 partition that you want to clone and download the AOMEI Backupper freeware software. Open Clone section of this application after finishing the installation to start the cloning process. Here we are just discussing about the partition cloning so click on Partition Clone option.
#2. In the Partition Clone section, select the source partition that you want to clone. We have installed Windows 8.1 on our C: Drive. So we clicked on C: partition. Click on Next button.
#3. In the last step you have selected the Source Partition and in this part you have to select the destination partitionwhere you want to clone the source operating system. Click on Next button to go into the next step.
Note: Please remove all the important data from the Destination Partition because it will be wiped out.
#4. Here you will see the final screen that will show the information about the source and destination partition. You can click on the close icon to abort the operation or click on Start Clone to start the cloning process.
#5. You can check the cloning progress and click on Finish button once it’s done showing 100%.
Under Utilities option of this app you can create bootable media as well that works better as compared with cloning in running system.
DriveClone
DriveClone is yet another tool that you can use to perform the same task like AOMEI Backupper can do. You can also use this tool to copy all your partition contents into new drive or SSD (Solid State Drive) in a few simple clicks. You can use the new drive to boot your system and use your applications as if you were using your original hard drive. We did some research on usage and functionality of AOMEI Backupper and DriveClone and found that claims DriveClone works better and is easy to use as compared with AOMEI Backupper.
DriveClone is available for non commercial users and commercial user also. Non commercial user version is free to download and use.
