Mouse Pointer Freezes, Lags or Other Problems While Playing Games in Windows 8.1

Description

There are certain problems faced by Windows 8.1 users like mouse pointer related issues when you are playing games such as Call of Duty, Hitman, Half-life, Counter Strike and Tomb Raider etc. These issues are freezing or pausing of mouse pointer. This problem occurs due to some new features of Windows 8.1. In this tutorial, you can get the solution to fix issues.

Solution:

Method: Using Compatibility Options

By running application or game in compatibility mode, you can fix this issue. For this:
  •  Right-click on game’s shortcut icon and select “Properties.” If the game shortcut is present as a tile on the start screen then click it and then click on “Open file location” option given in the bottom bar. After this, right-click it and select “Properties.”
  • Go to “Compatibility” tab and enable the option of “Disable display scaling on high DPI settings.”

  •  Now, save the changes and run the game again. Hopefully, the issue is fixed.

If you are still facing the issue then try to resolve it by enabling other options in compatibility tab such as “Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 8” or 7, etc.
