Description

Nowadays, laptops have become an essential thing to carry while you travel. But, you need to keep it safe and secure. Here are tips to do this.

Solution:

1. Laptop is the delicate piece of hardware and thus, you need to keep it in a proper cushioned bag. For this, you can bring a laptop-specific carrying case with padding and protection. Keep other accessories and cables in separate compartments to avoid any scratch.

2. Remember to power down the laptop before keeping it in a laptop bag. Never put the sleeping laptop into a bag without powering it off.

3. Keep your laptop on your lap or within your view. If you are travelling by a car then don’t keep it in the passenger seat as it could be the opportunity for the thief. Try to hide your laptop.

4. What else can be worse than losing your laptop? But, losing the information stored in it is very frustrating. Thus, it is better to keep a copy of your important data on a hard drive and keep it at home or office. Also, never keep your confidential data without strong password and encryption.

5. When you use public Wi-Fi networks, make sure you are welcoming viruses, malware and data snoops. So, stay up-to-date with antivirus and antispyware software installed. If you are performing online transaction then the web address should begin with “https.”

6. Last but not the least, don’t forget to record the precise information about your laptop including make, model, and serial or service number. With this information, you can easily report for a stolen laptop.
