Description
In this competitive environment, you spend most of your time in front of computer. While working day and night to achieve your goals and fulfill your dreams, you must forget about your own body. Thus, continue reading this as it is going to help you to set up an ergonomic workstation.
Solution:
Firstly, you need to find your natural posture. Keep your chair away from desk and sit comfortably. For this, just stretch your feet on the floor in front of you, your hands on the lap and relax your shoulders as you lean back a bit.
Secondly, you need to think about keyboard and mouse placement. Keyboard should be placed 1 to 2 inches above your thighs. You can go for keyboard tray. Always keep your keyboard down and away from you. The position of your keyboard and mouse should be shoulder-distance apart.
Thirdly, you need to position your screen correctly. The distance of your screen is neither too far nor too close. For finding the exact position, extend your arms and make sure that the tips of your middle finger should land on the screen. To set height, close your eyes and on opening your eyes should land on the address bar.
Fourthly, position your chair comfortably as it supports your back, bottom and posture. Find a chair that offers good lumbar support. Also, when you sit down then there should be a little space between the edge of the chair and the back of the knees. Furthermore, your feet should be on the floor when you sit as well as your thighs should be slightly below your hips.
Last but not the least, you should keep in mind that sitting for hours and hours at your computer is not at all healthy thus, take a break at least once an hour and walk around the office or stretch.
