Description
Make it a habit to clean your mobile device daily with a microfiber cloth so as to remove dirt and stains. Also, store the cloth in a bag or other container to keep it away from dirt or other foreign matter along the way. Always replace the microfiber cloth with a new one regularly, to avoid spreading the stains. Companies, like Alpine Products, offer small microfiber cloths that tuck into a cover and clip onto the device itself or can be placed onto a bag or key ring. Keep your cleaning cloth along with your regular gear kit. It helps you to stay on top of cleaning.
In case, your screen has food or other dried-on stains on it, use microfiber dipped in water to remove it. Never apply water to the screen directly. These drops can slip inside your device unintentionally.
2. Regular cleaning
At least, once a month clean your device thoroughly including screen, buttons and ports. Using alcohol soaked cloth to clean the screen is effective for your glass screen but it may effect negatively to the surface of plastics. As a recommendation, we can say to use cleaning fluid formulated for screen cleaning such as iKlear and Monster Cable’s ScreenClean. Also, don’t use abrasive cleaners or other household cleaners. For cleaning headphones port and speaker grilles, use a keyboard vacuum cleaner with a brush head to stir and remove dirt and dust. Never use floor vacuum as it can harm the components of your device due to its high suction. Furthermore, avoid air dusters and canned air. Headphone sockets are very sensitive. If anything blocks their micro switch then they won’t work. Thus, be careful while cleaning it. Also, don’t use Q-tip-style cotton swabs and never insert anything into a socket except the plug it was designed to receive.
3. Cases should also be cleaned
All kind of cases have gaps to collect dirt particles which can reach to your tablet. These dirt particles can result in scratches or other harmful marks on the back of a device. This type of damage is very common in those devices which you carry in your pocket. Regularly, remove the device from the case and clean the case properly. For this also, you can use a soft cloth or small vacuum to get into the corners and crevices of the case. Also, replace screen protectors intermittently.
