How to set up multiple monitors in Windows 8?

Keywords: how to setup multiple monitors, windows 8 multiple monitors, multiple computer monitors, setup multiple monitors, multiple monitor windows 8

Description

Windows 8 multiple-monitor support can help you to enhance productivity. Fortunately, the process of Windows 8 multiple monitor setup becomes easier as compared with previous Windows 7 or Windows XP. Whether you are using the much-acclaimed Metro interface or the traditional Windows Desktop view you can accomplish the task in a quick and easy manner.

Solution:

Here is how-to:

Metro Interface

1. Swipe in or navigate mouse pointer to Windows Charms. You get four choices: PC screen only, Duplicate, Extend, and Second screen only.

2. Select “Extend.”

Traditional Desktop Mode

1. Go to the Control panel's Screen Resolution page under Appearance and Personalization.

2. Click “Display,” and then select “Extend.”

Extras: Customize the Taskbar display on the screen.

1. Right-click the “Taskbar on the Desktop” and choose “Properties” from the context menu.

2. In the dialog’s Taskbar tab, click “Show taskbar on all displays.”

Note: Going ahead, you can further customize the taskbar display. For instance, select the main taskbar and buttons only for apps running on the current display, or only the taskbar on the additional monitor. However, the secondary display won’t have icons pertaining to Wi-Fi signal, time and date, battery charge, and volume level.
