You must have heard about the new Windows Phone 8 app called Office Remote. With this app, you can control your Word, Excel and PowerPoint presentations. Want to set up your Windows phone as an Office Remote? Here is the solution.

Solution:

1. To begin with the process, download “Microsoft Office Remote PC Setup” software from Microsoft’s website and install it.

2. Bluetooth should be enabled on your PC and Windows Phone 8 as well as they both need to be paired.

3. On the PC, launch the Office document you want to access and then go to the Office Remote tab. Click on Office Remote and then select “Turn On.”

4. After installing Office Remote on Windows Phone 8, open this app and connect your paired PC from the list. This connection lets you open the documents. Select the document which you want to open.

Now, you can easily navigate that document with your Windows Phone 8. Its functions vary depending on the type of document you are working with:

PowerPoint

• Go to the next, previous, and last slide
• View slide thumbnails and go to your preferred slide
• View speaker notes
• View presentation timer and slide numbers
• Laser pointer using touch on your phone

Excel

• Swipe to change worksheets 
• Use Slicers, PivotTable, and Filters 
• Change the zoom level 
• Move to any named object given in your workbook 
• Move up or down the worksheet
