How to open a file with a strange extension?

Description

If you are finding difficulty in opening a file with strange extension then this tutorial can help you.

Solution:

strange extension

Firstly, you need to check that file for malware. Once you get sure that the file is clean, double-click it. If don’t then select “Use the Web service to find the correct program” and click “OK.” In case, you don’t find any useful information in the resulting page then try another file extension database such as FILExt. Enter the extension in the field in the upper-right corner and press “Enter.” Also, you can use Bing, Google, or any other search engine and search for open .extfile replacing ext with the mystery extension.
If all this doesn’t work then go for an educated guess. Obviously, you know the basic about that file. Thus, you can guess whether the file is an image, document or spreadsheet. After guessing, you can try to open it using right kind of application. By double-clicking it, you will not be able to open it. So, you can load the program and drag the file into the application window. Further, you can use the program’s File>Open tool. While choosing the file type, select “All Files (*.*) or a similar option.
