Use Onefeed to replace your New Tab page in Chrome

Description

Want to add information on your new Tab page in Chrome? Here is a solution with OneFeed. With OneFeed, you can add custom newsfeed as well as get alerts from your social media accounts.

Solution:
For giving you more flexibility to manage your newsfeed and alerts, newer versions of Chrome smart up the New Tab page. As a result of which you get some shortcuts to your most-visited websites or Chrome apps. In the previous extension, New Tab Page adds the weather, headlines and links to chrome apps. But, OneFeed contains lot more like newsfeed and social media updates from Facebook, Google+, Twitter and Instagram. Also, you can attach your Dropbox account.

To start this OneFeed, just install a copy of OneFeed for Chrome by visiting their Web site. Then click Get OneFeed button. You will find an alert from Chrome saying that the extension has been installed.

Now, open a new tab in chrome and you can see options to add your social media accounts. By clicking on each one to log in, you can provide them access to OneFeed. Be cautious regarding Facebook option. You can skip the step of allowing OneFeed to post on your behalf. After finishing, you can see the New Tab page with the updates from your social networks.

The middle folders of the OneFeed can be organized to your liking. Thus, the updates of your social media accounts will display along the bottom of this area. For accessing the newsfeed, just click on left or right hand arrows.

To customize the websites, click on the setting cog under New Categories or the main OneFeed menu. Select Edit News. Furthermore, you have the option of adding new websites or removing the existing ones.

On the top right-hand corner, notification center is located where you will see alerts for things like new Gmail messages or Facebook updates. Talking about the nice feature of the OneFeed extension, it remembers if you were on the shortcuts page or the newsfeed. Also, you can adjust the background pattern as per your choice.
